Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics from the beginning, as she discovered her talent for sprinting when she was a student at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. In just 10 weeks following her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200-meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She was then accepted into University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. One year later Felix earned her debut Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix has consistently placed at the top of the podium in all her competitions during the Olympics that took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
